We made it 60 km up the coast to Portbelo, a gorgeous, stunning untouched bay. 20 or 30 sailing boats sit in this natural harbour, a lot of them will be going to Cartagena/Columbia. The job at hand - Find a willing sailor or risk the gauntlet of the lancha's. Watched the Argentina match in a quaint little cafe before heading off to find 'Captain Jacks'...according to the whispers the only place to be if your seeking passage on a sailing boat. Dropping the bags we followed the noise up a set of stairs, what a stunning place! An open bar atop a hill with a view of paradise overlooking this old Port town, the old Spanish forts and bay stretch out before us. This place marks the spot where man meets the jungle, humming birds and stick insects were doing there thing as Captain Jack held court with the locals, the warmest of welcomes was received. There are much, much worse places to be stuck trying to get on a boat. Happy days!
