I got in touch with Abelkebir, the main man of the famous Sidi Mamoon group. He tells me to sit tight at the cafe I'm in and reassures that he'll be with me in 15 minutes.
Three HOURS later Abelkebir turns up on his moped and we're off to his place to hang out and get some of his sounds down on tape (check out the upload).
Being on the back of that thing was death on wheels but Abelkebir seemed protected by some invisible barrier that repelled everything and anything in his path.
I lost count of the times I thought we were in for it, only to somehow ghost through a tiny gap between car and wall.
Good thing too, or we would never have shared a fabulous tajine (slow cooked Moroccan stew) down a Marrakesh side street before Abelkebir sent me on my way. Got to prepare for a big day tomorrow - south west 250 miles (402km) to Agadir city; our final stepping stone into Mauritania...
