This country club charged us $70 dollars, the shower didn't work!..on escaping this joint, still stinking I brought the matter up with one of the clones at the front desk...it was 9am, he offered us a free desert! I reigned in the fury and walked away.
The same monotonous stretch of road was where we walked and walked again...5 hours later Rioga picked us up and dropped us off at a bus stop in the middle of nowhere...it was nice to be nowhere, at least we were out of there. 40 mins later a German fella took us a good chunk of the way through Costa Rica dropping us off at a fork in the road somewhere near Golfitto... finally a decent push of movement, standing there in the middle of the jungle we were treated to a fantastic display of wildlife, around 20 enormous vultures riding the thermals circled above as a Family of gorgeous screaming parrots shifted from location to location around us. Eventually a local lady called Linda shuffled us onto a Gasolinera. 3 hours later exhausted and beat, the rain began to fall again, the looks of distain kept on growling...we are both close to feral, it's dark, we stink, we are knackered and have covered very little ground. Stuck in the middle of nowhere again a lone local bus pulls up, it's 10km to Golfitto... We jump aboard then jumped off, found a modest hotel, went to pay...both our cards were capoot , graciously they take the passport as we promised to sort it out in the morning.
