I woke up around 8am and hit the streets in search of an internet cafe.... quite a sprawled out City Hat Yai, as I ventured further away from my bags and little bus shop thing in quite a search for an elusive internet cafe, I had to leave a fair whack of mental bread crumbs out to find my way back... I found not one and had to blag my way into a posh Hotel and use theirs - to inform Adam I am nearing him and to get the Whisky bottle polished for my arrival. On my way back I was looking for kind faces to ask where is the best spot to get me on my way to Bangkok and what's the best and cheapest way to get to it...I buy a coffee off a side street vendor and find just the man, he and his mate discuss it in depth as I sit their oblivious to what they are saying. They reach a conclusion...I am happy enough to believe them and head off to get my bags and return to the coffee place, the bags change the script but after more deliberation we agree the most efficient way is for the guys mate to drive me their on his Moped for 80 baht. 40 mins later I am at a petrol station on the main moterway (Route 4) that hugs the east coast of Thailand,Bangkok bound.... my bum is beyond numb and I gave the man a 100baht (2 quid). 30 minutes of sitting in the baking sun and Jahrad picks me up in his beautiful air conditioned car, takes me a good 250km to Patthalung and is enjoying our chat so much he decides to visit his mate in Thungsong a further 140km on the way.We say our goodbyes and I am placed on the side of a rather busy stretch of moterway...with a slight slip road spitting out a few cars every 10mins with the bulk of traffic wizzing by... 1hr later a young lad pulls up and hands me his phone, I am perplexed- "hello" i say...a Thai woman just rants down the phone... I think he's a taxi, 3hrs later with minimal conversation, smiles and nods 'Panawat' drops me off at another Police Station on the Moterway not to far from Surat Thani... another lovely Thai citizen just concearned about the welfare of a fellow fella. Its around 11pm their is a few moterway stragglers mulling about, however the vibe is civil and the mozzy fire in front of the concrete cabin with 2 police guys in it is doing its job...I tried telling them I was hitching and that I didn't need a bus...no luck! they were happy to let me put my head down on the path surrounding the little building till the morning.
